  • Photo of Dr. Grant

    Bradley Grant, O.D.

    Dr. Grant is a native of Southern Illinois and was born in Mount Carmel, IL. For his undergraduate studies, Dr. Grant attended Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, IL, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology in 2003. After graduation, he moved to Memphis, TN, to attend Southern College of Optometry (SCO.)

    While attending SCO, Dr. Grant received numerous awards and recognition for academic and clinical achievement. He also served as president for both the Sports Vision Society and Beta Sigma Kappa honor society. He graduated with magna cum laude honors from SCO in 2007. Dr. Grant is currently active in the Illinois Optometric Association and American Optometric Association.

    Dr. Grant’s favorite part about being an optometrist is improving patients’ quality of life through enhanced vision. He has a special interest in the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma, as well as the management of diabetic eye disease.

    Dr. Grant has been married to his wife, Shaylon, since 2003, and they have three children, Gatsby, Iggy, and Benson. Outside of the office, you will find him involved in some sort of family activity. He is active in sporting activities, coaching both basketball and the infamous “Pink Eyes” softball team.

    Mason Schiltz, O.D.

    Dr. Schiltz is originally from western Kansas and earned his Bachelor of Science in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology from the University of Kansas in Lawrence. He went on to receive his Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Missouri–St. Louis (UMSL) College of Optometry, where he was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society and was recognized with the UMSL Award of Excellence in Ocular Disease. He also made the Dean’s List during his time there.

    While earning his degree, Dr. Schiltz served as a teaching assistant and tutor for courses in biochemistry, neuroanatomy, immunology, physiology of the eye, and ocular disease. His clinical experience includes providing full-scope optometric care with a particular focus on geriatric and pediatric patients. He has special interests in ocular disease management and lifelong vision preservation.

    Dr. Schiltz is passionate about helping people see the beauty of the world clearly and values the personal connections he builds with each patient.

    In his free time, Dr. Schiltz enjoys all things outdoors, especially motorcycles, dirt bikes, mountain biking, and climbing. He and his wife, Andrea, welcomed their first child, a baby girl, in October 2025. They also share their home with two lovable labs, Gus and Sonny.

    Elsie Rodriguez, O.D.

    Dr. Rodriguez earned her Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience with a minor in Chemistry from the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she also completed her pre-med requirements. She went on to receive her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, where she was on the Dean’s List, Clinical Dean’s List, and the Under-Represented Populations Scholarship.

    Dr. Rodriguez has extensive experience in comprehensive eye care, ocular disease management, specialty contact lenses, and post-operative care. At Mid-State Eye, she diagnoses and manages ocular disease such as glaucoma, diabetes and macular degeneration, treats dry eye and urgent eye conditions, co-manages cataract and LASIK surgery patients, and helps patients find personalized vision solutions. She is fluent in both English and Spanish and enjoys building meaningful relationships with patients of all ages and backgrounds.

    Dr. Rodriguez chose optometry because she wanted a career that would make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. She values the opportunity to help patients protect and improve one of their most important senses while providing compassionate, individualized care.

    Outside of the office, Dr. Rodriguez enjoys spending time with family and friends over good food and coffee. She travels whenever she has the chance – especially internationally. Among her favorite destinations are Spain, Greece, and Japan.
